Blue Swede於1973年首次成立，當時瑞典頂級歌手BjörnSkifs在音樂會期間尋找樂隊陪伴他。[3]該樂隊原名「Blåblus」（瑞典的「藍襯衫」或「藍色牛仔褲」，對「藍軍」一語雙關[4]）和特色Skifs唱主音。
