《老人与海》，孤独的老渔夫圣地亚哥是个硬汉，他所体现的精神价值，是古希腊悲剧精神与现代的呼应。在《老人与海》中，海明威终于为他心爱的硬汉找到了灵魂，这种精神在人类永恒的价值中是不变的。
